Most storage projects go wrong weeks before anyone lifts a battery: an export limit nobody applied for, a board with no spare way, a cable route that exists only on the drawing. We survey the site, design against the measured load and the real incomer, submit the grid application early, and build the distribution work ourselves — so the day the system energises is a formality rather than a discovery.

How the job runs
No stage ends with a verbal update. Every step produces a document, a certificate or a working system, so progress is visible and the handover pack builds itself as we go.
We measure the incomer, read the half-hourly data, photograph the switchroom, and establish what the roof, the ground and the existing board will take.

Single-line diagram, equipment schedule, protection and earthing arrangement, and a fixed bill of materials. No provisional sums.

The application goes to the distribution network operator with the protection settings we intend to use, so their answer arrives before the equipment does.

The handover pack is the job, written down. It is yours to keep, to hand to an insurer, or to give to whoever maintains the system after us.

The build is rarely the long part. Survey and design move at the speed we can get into the switchroom. The grid application is the variable, and its timescale belongs to the distribution network operator rather than to us — which is exactly why we submit it first. You get the dates in writing as they land, not an average that flatters the quote.
No. We quote our own batteries, inverters and boards by default because it keeps the warranty and the fault-finding in one place. If you have a specified vendor or existing stock, we will design around it and say plainly where that changes what we can stand behind.
Yes, and most commercial jobs are live. Isolations and shutdown windows are agreed at design stage and written into the programme, so the outage you planned for is the outage you get.
That is more common than a flat refusal, usually as an export cap. The design keeps storage and export as separate decisions, so self-consumption and backup survive a lower export figure. If the answer makes the project uneconomic, you find that out before anything is ordered.
We maintain it on an interval agreed at handover, and the documentation means somebody else could. The single-line diagram, settings record, test results and O&M manual are yours — not held on our server as leverage.
That is why all three are on this site. Storage, network and automation share one containment route, one commissioning visit and one point of contact, instead of three trades meeting each other for the first time on site.
One accountable chain
Where a scope like this includes storage, inverters or distribution boards, they are built by the same company that surveys the site and commissions the system. That is why a fault has one owner, instead of a supplier and an installer pointing at each other.
